MONTE LIVINGSTON

I’m the owner and founder of Living Art Gallery Tattoo Lounge and a third generation San Clemente local. I started tattooing as a teenager, back when tattoo shops were still pretty restricted in town. After helping push back on some of those restrictions, I opened Living Art Gallery in 2011.

I specialize in color and black and grey realism, portraits, wildlife and especially complicated coverups. I’ve always believed there’s usually a way to make a coverup work, even when someone has been told otherwise. After more than 25 years of tattooing, that’s still one of my favorite parts of the job - taking something someone wants gone and turning it into something they actually want to show off.

Being so close to Camp Pendleton, I’ve tattooed a lot of Marines and military families over the years. I offer military pricing for active duty and veterans and always appreciate the support we’ve gotten from that community.

Outside of the shop, I’m a husband and dad. Most of my free time is spent with my boys, fishing, surfing, painting or getting talked into whatever chaos they’ve got going on that day.
